{"id":1657,"date":"2019-07-07T15:28:26","date_gmt":"2019-07-07T15:28:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ledgestonehotel.com\/elko\/?p=1657"},"modified":"2019-07-07T15:28:26","modified_gmt":"2019-07-07T15:28:26","slug":"coming-up-silver-state-stampede","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ledgestonehotel.com\/elko\/2019\/07\/07\/coming-up-silver-state-stampede\/","title":{"rendered":"Coming Up: Silver State Stampede"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Elko is gearing up to host one of their biggest annual events!<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.silverstatestampede.com\">Silver State Stampede<\/a> is Nevada&#8217;s oldest rodeo, originating in 1913, and it includes traditional rodeo events, a junior rodeo, and a division that pays tribute to the origin of rodeos in the Old West by using old-style gear.<\/p>\n<h2>The Events<\/h2>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BlQ0iXah0lF\/<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the classic events of bronc&#8217; riding, bull busting, and barrel racing, Elko also hosts their own unique event &#8211; the Ring Of Fear.\u00a0 In this competition, six very brave cowboys stand in chalk circles while an angry bull is released into the ring.\u00a0 The last cowboy to step outside of his circle wins.\u00a0 It&#8217;s terrifyingly fun, and will keep you on the edge of your seats.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/sgknFmSKvk\/<\/p>\n<p>The youth division takes classic events and makes them a bit safer for younger competitors.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll have the opportunity to see mutton busting, pole bending, and best of all, mini bull riding, where kids ride smaller bucking bulls in the hopes of glory.<\/p>\n<h2>Other Entertainment<\/h2>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BlF_hRuhZk1\/<\/p>\n<p>The rodeo is more than just competition in the ring, though.\u00a0 On the grounds, you&#8217;ll find food, drinks, and all sorts of shopping.\u00a0 Pick up a pair of beautifully hand-tooled cowboy boots, or a ten-gallon hat to keep the sun out of your eyes.\u00a0 \u00a0You&#8217;ll also find homemade jewelry, saddles and tack, and so much more to take home as a reminder of the rodeo.<\/p>\n<h2>Enjoy the thrills of Elko&#8217;s biggest rodeo and have fun <a href=\"https:\/\/ledgestonehotel.com\/elko\/2019\/06\/04\/elkos-second-saturday-walk\/\">exploring the town<\/a> while you&#8217;re visiting!<\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elko is gearing up to host one of their biggest annual events!
