Escalante Petrified Forest<\/h2>\n

If you visit the Escalante Petrified Forest, read the signs and don’t take any wood home! Since it’s fossilized into agate, it’s pretty and tempting, but the forest is supposedly cursed.\u00a0 People who have taken chunks of wood home have lost their jobs, been in car accidents, fallen ill, been severely injured, and more.<\/p>\n

Skinwalkers<\/h2>\n

While Skinwalker Ranch in Ballard is the most common location for sighting these cryptozoological creatures, they’ve been said to be spotted across the state.\u00a0 Originally found in Native American legends, skinwalkers are red-eyed human-animal mutants that can shift more fully into humans or animals at will.\u00a0 They’ve been known to mutilate humans and animals that cross their path, so if you come across one, flee in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n

Bear Lake Monster<\/h2>\n

Like Nessie in Scotland and Tessie in Nevada, Bear Lake has its own serpent-like monster.\u00a0 Tales about the creature date back to the Shoshone and visitors to the lake are still cautious about entering the water.\u00a0 The creature is reported to be anywhere from 40 to 200 feet in length and could possibly be a remnant plesiosaur.<\/p>\n

Aliens Abound<\/h2>\n

The Uintah Basin is extremely popular for alien activity.\u00a0 Thousands of sightings have been reported in the area in the last 50 years, and while none have been proven, the sheer volume indicates some sort of supernatural activity.<\/p>\n
