The biggest Fourth of July event in Yakima happens at the State Fair Park with family-friendly thrills at a carnival, all culminating in an incredible fireworks show. Bring a picnic or indulge in your favorite fair treats from one of the many food vendors. The party starts at noon, and there’s free admission all day. Hop on a complimentary bus from the Yakima Transit Park & Ride and get ready to celebrate Independence Day the community way.

In nearby Sunnyside at Sunnyside High School, an old-fashioned Fourth of July takes place with a carnival, talent show, and color guard performance. With a watermelon, hot dog, and pie eating contest, you’ll want to come hungry and be ready to dig into your favorite summer treats.

Light Up the Night

The short drive to Prosser means a classic Fourth of July party in the city park. Car shows, obstacle courses, sack races, and Bingo are just a few events taking place. The kiddie parade starts at 1 p.m. at the Courthouse, and Little Miss Prosser helps with the opening ceremony of the fireworks at dusk.
