Race entry is just $20 and starts at the high school at 9 a.m.

There’s also an impressive peppering of Irish pubs throughout the valley, like McGuire’s Irish Pub at 4807 West Tieton Dr. The Blarney Burger is a famous local concoction that’s a must for the holidays. Celebrating a birthday and St. Paddy’s Day? Enjoy a free birthday Bloody Mary in the morning before the live music, bar games and drink specials kick off.

A Dose of Green

Every bar in Yakima is gearing up for the holiday, and you’ll find specials on Jameson and Guinness throughout town. Bill’s Place has a permanent green shamrock as part of their signage, and being located at 206 South Third Ave. makes it easily accessible. Bert’s Pub at 5110 Tieton Drive was the first pub to open after prohibition in the U.S. and is a must for revelers.

Check out Bob’s Keg and Cork at 27 North Front Street for British-style cask pumps. It’s where the locals drink, and you’ll feel right at home with the charismatic owners behind the bar.
