Charm and revelry come together in Billings; a surprising place for some of the best New Year’s Eve parties around! In 2013, Billings had their first ever ball drop downtown and it quickly became a new, favorite tradition. A portion of downtown, from first to third avenue, is closed to traffic while the city parties with food anddrink vendors, live and free entertainment, fireworks from PyroFX, and special treats that are different (and secret!) each year.

Beneath Skypoint, a giant ball drops at midnight, which is showcased on a 20-foot megascreen. Admission is only a few dollars, but be forewarned: If you’re not used to Montana winters, it can be incredibly chilly. Bundle up, pack wisely, and if you don’t want to brave the cold, there are plenty of other ways to ring in the New Year.
