Billings goes all out for St. Patrick’s Day, starting with the annual parade March 17th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. A tradition for more than 30 years, it features 100 floats, live music, marching bands, collector cars and much more. The culmination in an outdoor Celtic Fair starts the holiday weekend right with Irish dancing, cloggers and bag pipers. Food trucks line the streets, giving you the chance to sample a variety of local and Irish fare.
The party extends into the wee hours at Pug Mahon’s Irish Pub, located at 3011 1st Ave. N. Usually known for pints and pork chops, this treasure is tucked into a strip mall—but don’t let the location fool you. Try the Irish stew, corned beef and cabbage stew, and wood-fired pizzas.
