Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Museum

The museum is dedicated to the pioneers who settled Utah, and the struggles they faced in an untamed land that offered unlimited dangers, but also unlimited opportunities.  Geneology enthusiasts will appreciate the resources to explore shared ancestry with the pioneers, and history lovers will like seeing the displays regarding life in the Wild West.

Uintah County Heritage Museum

The Heritage museum focuses on preserving the history of all the people who have lived in the Uintah Basin over the centuries, from the native tribes that initially settled the area to the American settlers who came later.  The extensive displays provide an in-depth look at life over the ages, from cooking to weapons, architecture and housing to pastimes.  You’ll get a sense of all of the cultures that have contributed to modern-day Vernal.

Utah Field House Of Natural History State Park Museum

This museum focuses on the natural history of the region, from the dinosaur fossils that have been found locally to modern day flora and fauna.  Learn how fossils are excavated and information gleaned and see the discoveries scientists have made, as well as how this affects knowledge on current species of animals.  It’s fascinating, especially for those passionate about science.
